Opal Suchata Chuangsri crowned as Miss World 2025, marking a historic first-ever win for Thailand

In a dazzling ceremony, Opal Suchata from Thailand was crowned Miss World 2025 at the glittering grand finale held at the HITEX Exhibition Centre in Hyderabad, Telangana, India.

Opal, 22, is a political science student. She is the founder of the “Opal for Her” initiative that supports women with breast cancer.

Chairwoman of the Miss World Organization, Julia Morley CBE, who presided over the jury, praised the finalists for their depth, grace, and clarity of thought. Speaking after the crowning, she said: “Tonight, the world saw not just beauty, but brilliance, courage, and a call for change. Opal has shown us that she is more than a winner – she is a woman of purpose, with a voice that the world is ready to hear.”

The 1st runner-up was Ethiopia, Hasset Dereje (Miss World Africa), the 2nd runner-up was Poland, Maja Klajda (Miss World Europe), while the 3rd runner-up was Martinique, Aurélie Joachim (Miss World Caribbean). 

The 72nd Miss World beauty pageant was hosted by Miss World 2016 Stephanie del Valle and Indian presenter Sachiin Kumbhar. India hosted the beauty competition last year as well.

The new Miss World from Thailand competed alongside 108 contestants.
